I just created my account — how do I start selling?

You have signed up. Now you need to set up a few things before you can list, sell, and receive payouts. This guide walks you through each step in the right order.
1. Open the account menu
Tap the circle with your initials in the top-right corner of the header. This opens your account menu and gives you access to your profile, dashboard, orders, and settings.
2. Add your pickup address
Go to your profile first. Add an address where you are based. This address is used as the pickup location when a courier service comes to collect an item to deliver to a buyer, and also when a buyer chooses to pick up directly from you.
3. Go to your seller dashboard
Your seller dashboard is where you will track listings, orders, reviews, views, and payouts. Open it from the account menu to see your current status and any tasks you still need to complete.
4. Verify your account
Verification is required before you can receive payouts. In the seller dashboard, click the verification icon or the verification link to start.
Verify as an individual
- A valid government-issued ID (NIN slip, driver's licence, voter's card, international passport, or residence permit).
Verify as a registered business
- Your Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration number or certificate.
- The registered business name and type of registration.
- A valid TIN (Tax Identification Number) if you have one.
- The name of the business owner or director.
5. Add your payout bank account
Once you are verified, go to the payouts page and add a bank account where you want your sales earnings to be sent. The name on the bank account should match the name on your verification to avoid delays.
6. List your first item
Now you are ready to create your first listing. Take clear photos in daylight, write an honest description, set a fair price, and choose whether you offer pickup, delivery, or both.
7. Manage your orders and payouts
After you list an item, you will see all your activity in the seller dashboard: pending orders, deliveries that need pickup, completed sales, buyer reviews, listing views, and pending payouts.
What happens when a buyer orders?
When a buyer places an order, the payment is collected and assigned to your account. You can see the order on your seller dashboard. If the buyer chose delivery, the delivery fee has already been paid and Havyn handles the courier through our partner network — you do not need to arrange or pay for delivery yourself. On your sales page you will see whether the buyer wants pickup or delivery. If they want pickup, use the chat to agree on a day and time that works for both of you. When they arrive, ask for the pickup code and enter it to confirm they are the right person and mark the order completed. If it is a courier pickup, make sure to schedule delivery from the order and provide the details the courier needs to collect the item.
- For pickup: agree on a pickup day and time in chat, then ask for the pickup code when they arrive and enter it to complete the order.
- For courier pickup: schedule delivery through the order and fill in the pickup details requested.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I list before I verify my account?
- You can usually create a listing, but payouts will not be released until your account is verified. It is better to verify before your first sale to avoid delays.
- Why does my pickup address matter?
- Courier fees are calculated from this address. If it is wrong, buyers will see incorrect delivery costs and the courier may not reach you when an order is placed.
- Can I use a different bank account for payouts?
- You can add and update your bank account on the payouts page. To avoid delays, the account name should match the name on your verified ID or business registration.
